This Christmas tree is made of Spalted Sugar Maple and is 8-1/2" tall.

Incredible texture. This is a special tree, a real show off because of the amazing patterns and texture in the wood. shape.

The patterns are from spalting which happens when maple is exposed to weather for a long period of time. This wood is from an old sugar maple tree on my property that fell down. I have let it set for several years, the trick is to let it sit long enough to get the mineral patterns that make the incredible colors, but not so long that the wood gets soft and rots.

This wood was cut several years ago and has sat outside my shop while I let nature work on it and give it incredible colors.

This tree has an incredible graining and color. It is finished with lacquer and hand rubbed to a satin luster.
Each hand turned tree has a fanciful shape.

It is finished with several coats of carefully hand rubbed lacquer finish to best show it off.
It is signed and numbered by the artist.
