The finished piece is 22" wide x 14" deep x 6-3/4" tall A master cabinet maker guides you through each step of the process and gives tips and advice that will enrich and broaden your woodworking experience. There are several options available for purchase.
- You can purchase the instruction booklet only, and supply your own materials.
- You can purchase the standard kit, this will provide the instruction booklet and all the materials needed, cabinet grade plywood, and kiln dried hardwood needed to make the parts yourself. The knobs and the mouldings are already made for you.
- The deluxe kit provides the instruction book and all the parts, cut to size from top grade cabinet plywood and kiln dried hardwood. Ready to sand and assemble, all the mouldings as well as 4 hand turned wooden knobs that are just so wonderful, you even get felt pads to stick on the bottom when you are all done. All the major parts are cut to size, the rabbet joints are cut, The drawer runner strips are installed and the veneer is already applied to the sides. The initial cutting is done for you, leaving all the fun parts for you to do yourself. You need to sand the parts, assemble the case and the 2 drawers, cut and fit the mouldings, apply your finish of choice and sit back and bask in the satisfaction of creating an heirloom.
- Materials only. The materials can also be purchased without the instruction booklet, a great thing if you already own the instruction booklet booklet.
The book is not just a set of plans, the instruction booklet has many photos as well as crystal clear 3D renderings that show you every piece in detail and how they all fit together. Measured shop drawings are also included of course. There are sections with detailed descriptions and drawings to show you how to how to use the tablesaw to cut various woodworking joints. Learning to make a small cabinet such as this will teach you a lot, when you are done you will be able to apply your skills to build many other projects as well.
