Crown Moulding quite literally tops off a room.
It is the first improvement I suggest when you want to kick things up a notch.
Whether it is a simple arrangement with a single element, or a complex treatment with several mouldings skillfully combined, it creates a transition between the walls and ceiling that beautifully ornaments an otherwise bare and boring space.
To my eye, without crown moulding, the square intersection between ceiling and wall just looks so barren.Â
It is a missed opportunity.
As one of my designer friends says, “the room is undercooked”.
